Prosyntix is looking for a highly motivated Principal Engineer for one of our clients. This is a contract to hire position with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, NC. The top three skills they are looking for are:

Position Overview The Principal Engineer will provide business solutions for our Excess and Surplus applications. This individual will lead and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of critical projects within the company’s policy administration system. This individual will work in both a technical and leadership function, leading teams through the analysis, planning, and delivery of system enhancements and strategic initiatives. The candidate should be knowledgeable working with complex systems and poses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
Create and utilize best practices for developing and designing within a complex multi-tiered environment.
Collaborate and manage work with Application Managers, Release Train Engineer, Product Owners, Developers, and peers to accomplish a coordinated implementation effort.
Work closely with application architects or enterprise architects on infrastructure and application design.
Meet with business unit representatives to define and evaluate moderately complex business automation needs.
Development, design, and analysis of systems and/or programs and system implementation schedules.
Assists product managers in prioritizing new features for existing systems.
Plans team member work assignments and schedules and guides and monitors work performance.
Supervises and guides the detailed design and development activities for entire applications.
Design, develop, program and implement systems to specifications, and develop/coordinate project plans.
Conducts and coordinates design, code, and test plan reviews.
Conducts documentation audits and reviews and assures it is complete, acceptable, and in accordance with standards.
Mentoring and training software engineers.
Assisting on analyzing and troubleshooting application issues.
Recommend new technologies to improve efficiency.
Supporting and facilitating in maintenance and upgrades of existing software
Lead Infrastructure and Applications Upgrades that includes Windows Servers, .NET, Pega, SQL Server, Oracle, JBoss, Linux, and Tomcat.
Qualifications:
College degree in Computer Science, Management Information Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
SAFe/Agile work experience.
Knowledge of ITIL framework including ITSM – Asset, Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
Knowledge of COTS-based implementations, including Pega, ImageRight, Oracle Documaker, or Dragon
Passion for designing and developing modern web solutions.
Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues and solutions.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Considerable experience developing/supporting enterprise web applications including a deep understanding of Angular, typescript, .Net Core, Git, NuGet, package management, DevOps, service integration, UML modeling, SQL Server and/or Oracle, web services (WCF, JSON, REST, Web API).
Experience leading a team of developers, including offshore resources.
Execute systems test plans to ensure fail safe integration of a project into a production environment.
Keep abreast of technology and innovation in all relevant areas Strong foundation in System Development Lifecycle principles.
Desired Skills:
Working knowledge of and usage of Azure DevOps pipeline code deployments.
Experience with Windows platforms, including IIS.
Experience leading application development in Pega.
Experience with Application Servers, including JBOSS and Tomcat.
Basic understanding of relational database with focus on MS SQL and Oracle.
Exposure to monitoring, logging, and debugging tools such as Dynatrace.
Property Casualty insurance experience preferred
