Prosyntix is currently recruiting for a Lead Data Process Architect contract role for a financial company based out of Columbia, SC. This role will be able to work remotely but will need to be able to be on sight if the need arises.

 

Job Summary

 

The Lead Data Process Architect as part of the Office of Data Management will lead the analysis, planning, coordination and execution of the understanding, mapping and gap analysis of the current and target process flows for comprehensive information lifecycle management within the context of an internal control framework from record (create the data) to Report (consume the data). Documenting current state and proposing the target state process for data consumption, quality/exception management and creation. This includes warehouse and application API flows for business as usual uses and as special projects including the most complex transitions and re-platforming. Will be responsible to translate high-level business methodologies and requirements into detailed process specifications and performs business process analysis. Creates use cases, activity diagrams, conceptual and logical data modeling and user interface documentation. Identifies and documents gaps or improvement areas for business processes involving data throughout the customer or product lifecycles. Should have an extensive blend of business and technology background and BPMN or TOGAF process modelling experience in order to lead the development of the  data processes and procedures to align them with the data management standards and policies, while identifying and remediating gaps throughout the analysis process. This position leads the interaction with stakeholders and business data owners to determine and optimize how they collect, store, secure, and curate data to ensure that data is properly managed and provides the business with valuable insights. This position is also responsible for supporting and refining the Data Governance Program standards and processes to promote data accountability, validate compliance, and track data governance effectiveness through scorecards and status reports.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and partner with business owners of data and other team members of the Office of Data Management to:
    • Review current functionality across people, process and technology based on the current state of the project roll-out
    • Review outstanding functionality, defects, reporting and user experience items
    • Review current Modernization Roadmap, timelines and targets by function or lab
    • Create data use case models to enumerate user activities, requirements and process adaptations based on current and defined target state gap analysis
    • Create a source to reporting feature map to provide visibility into reporting and analytics functionality
    • Estimate and prioritize the feature map to create a prioritized roadmap by function or source (lab)
    • User reporting and analytics and use experience data and process flows with documented organizational impacts
    • Analyze the existing processes across platforms ingesting or producing data (manual, code and database)
    • Analyze target data models for target systems in to be state
    • Analyze Reporting Inventories and decompose data inputs and lineage
    • Perform initial process assimilation and data model analysis
    • Produce system interaction data diagram
    • Generate conceptual, logical and physical diagrams

 

  • Support documenting and creation of ODM metadata management domain model
  • Lead identification, tracking, root cause analysis, and monitoring of data process gaps to standards across the enterprise
  • Research and apply data best practices to offer guidance to business data owners by identifying areas for data lifecycle improvement and potential solutions
  • As a data process architect, lead efforts to investigate, conduct interviews, and perform analysis related to current data lifecycle processes across multiple business data domains
  • Lead business data process modeling sessions and documentation
  • Assist the Enterprise Data Director in driving Office of Data Management initiatives
  • Provide weekly team status reports and updates on key business partners’ progress towards implementing data governance
  • As a knowledge management coordinator, assist and guide business owners in maintaining data domains and associated information within the enterprise data catalogue
  • Ensure all data process artifacts are maintained and requests are monitored and tracked
  • Conduct periodic reviews of the data architectures and integrations to ensure compliance with the data governance standards and policies
  • Participate in a variety of activities related to data governance, data strategy implementation, data modeling, data requirements, risk assessment, identification of data challenges, modeling, data manipulation, and/or requirement elicitation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of business analyst/business process improvement experience that includes experience building and/or analyzing data ingestion frameworks
  • Data Architecture, Erwin, BPMN, TOGAF or other modelling and process orchestration framework experience
  • Minimum 3 years of managerial experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable and experienced with data management processes, metadata management, data stewardship, and data quality
  • Experience and knowledge of Data Management Tools (e.g. Informatica, Collibra, Alation, etc.)
  • Understanding of basic database structures and SQL
  • Experience with data governance and change management processes
  • A self-starter with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Customer-focused ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and consulting skills, ability to communicate across all levels of the organization (including internal and external stakeholders)
  • Possesses effective analytical abilities in order to examine data, data models, business processes, and make recommendations on improvements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, accountability, written and verbal communication skills, and time management
