Prosyntix is currently recruiting a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Support Specialist working in support of a DOD project. This role is an on-site, long-term contract opportunity with the company site located in Vicksburg, MS. This role may require occasional after-hours support. The primary requirements for this role are:
Provide excellent end user support and customer service
Engage in system level administration and troubleshooting
Assist in maintaining standard operating procedures
Overview of Role: This position would help to provide support in a high-paced enterprise environment supporting a DOD project. The HPC Support Specialist possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Required Experience and Skills: Provide technical assistance to computer users.
Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically.
Account management (establish user accounts, reset passwords)
System level administration and troubleshooting
Assist users with understanding software and hardware capabilities.
Continuous performance monitoring to ensure operational capability.
Assist in maintaining standard operating procedures.
Strong problem-solving skills; capable of analyzing and resolving hardware and operating system problems.
Excellent verbal and written communications with all levels of management for planning and organizing site management projects.
Strong detail-oriented skills; able to multi-task and change priorities quickly.
Able to meet precise standards.
Ability to convey complex technical information in an easily understood manner.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in C/Fortran programming is preferred.
Experience in parallel programming with MPI and OpenMP is preferred.
Compiling and debugging programs is preferred.
General knowledge of high-performance computers is preferred.
Extensive knowledge in troubleshooting data processing processes and procedures.
Experience in training and providing technical assistance to end-users.
Experience with Linux operating systems
Required Education and Experience:
Must currently possess an active Secret Clearance or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. (US Citizenship required, clear financial history, clear background, and clean drug screen)
A HS diploma with a minimum of 4 years related experience or AS degree with 2+ years’ experience or BA degree is preferred.
