Prosyntix is recruiting for a Contract to hire role in Richmond, VA.   This role will work as part of a Tiger team.   They will provide on-call, onsite support to a variety of clients in the area.   They will have 24/7 on call support and have to travel to client sites within SLA’s.  This role is with a great company with a high retention with these roles.     

Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting network issues
• Installing (rack and stack) network infrastructure in data centers
• Connecting/disconnecting VLAN ports on an as needed basis
• Adhering to client standards for all network configurations and changes
• Escalating any issues to management
• Interfacing with various teams to understand areas of impact during migrations

Experience With:

• Cable Patching
• Rack and stack
• Install or replace physical hardware—Ex. Router, Wireless AP, etc
• Equipment surveys/inspection
• Pictures
• Office Moves & decommissions
• UPS battery replacement experience
• Cisco series switch troubleshooting
• Cisco series router troubleshooting
• Carrier Issue Troubleshooting
• Hardware Reset
• Basic Cisco IOS troubleshooting
• Troubleshooting, server hardware running Windows, Solaris Unix or Red Hat Linux
• Server OS Patching
• OS modifications

 

Required skills and experience:

Experience supporting network infrastructure in large environments, including rack and stack, working with VLANs and troubleshooting

Experience with Cisco Networking Layer 2 and Layer 3 Network protocols

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working with Cisco IOS
